In-Person Training for Colorado Providers

The 2-3 hour training is designed for health and mental health professionals to prepare them to provide screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment to adult or adolescent patients. The training content includes information on the burden of injury and disease, and other harmful effects of alcohol, marijuana and other substance use across the spectrum of use. The training also includes basic motivation interviewing principles and techniques, the brief negotiated interview approach to brief interventions, and a summary of the full range of options for referral to treatment.
